Tabb High social studies teacher

I moved to York Country 22 years ago, when my oldest child was beginning kindergarten. I knew about YCSD’s reputation for excellence and so we decided to move here from Richmond rather than anywhere else on the peninsula. My experience as a parent, with my own two children was excellent. They both benefited tremendously from the dedicated teachers at Bruton High School. They also attended the School of the Arts, which changed their lives. The quality of instruction and depth of experiences that they had in York County schools has definitely helped them become successful adults.

Now that I am on the "other side" as a teacher, I can honestly express how proud I am to be a part of such a dedicated, hardworking, professional team.

If you join YCSD you will be supported by your colleagues and the parent community. The goal of this division is to prepare students for what is next in their lives, and I feel that I am part of a team that will help students be successful in anything they strive for. One of the greatest moments for me is to talk with a student who has graduated and hear them express what they learned from their time at Tabb and York County. If you love your subject, and enjoy working with young people, then join this wonderful team and you will be rewarded.

The York County School Division does not discriminate on the basis of race (Title VI), color, religion, national origin, sex, gender (Title IX), age or disability (Section 504) in its educational programs, activities or employment and provides equal access to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups.
